The simple things have the greatest impact.

Thirty years ago, Nancy Brinker promised her dying sister, Suzy Komen, that she would do everything she could to end breast cancer forever. Little did she know that a simple promise made between two loving sisters would forever change the way the world sees breast cancer.

When the journey to fulfill this Promise began, a woman diagnosed in the early stages of breast cancer had a 74% chance of living five years.  And today a woman diagnosed in the early stages of breast cancer has a 98% chance of surviving at least five years. 

Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find cures. While we have seen tremendous advances in breast cancer knowledge and awareness throughout these past 30 years, we know that our work has only begun.   Nancy’s promise to Suzy was profound, but it is truly being realized through the very simple act of one person wanting to save the life of another.   

Every day The Komen Chattanooga Affiliate changes lives in our community for the better.  From the breast health classes we teach to the free services we fund at local health care facilities to the life saving screening and treatment we are funding for women without financial resources, we are working to end breast cancer forever.

But we cannot do this without you. MAKE AN IMPACT TODAY!!
